Puppy Love

Just a short post to show off my sister in laws new puppy!  Her name is Gerdy and she is a Labrador/standard poodle mix, or if you want to be fancy, labra-doodle.

How flippin' cute right?!?!?!

FYI, I almost stole her, I mean I was so close to just picking her up and walking out of their house.  We would haven been on the run, just me and ol' Gerdy.  Two crazy gals finding crazy adventures, we would have been like Thelma and Louise and...wait, getting off track.

Awwwww yes, the little puppy play bites, puppy breath and sharp puppy nails...

Puppy Love!!!

Crazy Times!

Gah!  These past two weeks have been insane to say the least!

Last week I was out most of the week due to an ugly thing called strep throat.  OMG!  It was horrible, never had it before and never want it again!  I left work early on Tuesday and was out the rest of the week.  Knocked me on my tushy that's for sure!

Although I did learn a few things from having strep throat:

1.  It is possible to lose 5lbs in two days by eating nothing but chicken broth and ice cream.

2.  There is a point when you become so cold that your skin hurts.

3.  When the Dr. tells you to rest and stay in bed, you should probably do that.  Otherwise you might almost fall down the stairs carrying a load of laundry.

4.  My dogs can apparantly tell when I am sick.  They were basically glued to me the whole I week I was home.  I was in bed, they were in bed, I was in the kitchen, they were in the kitchen, I was in the bathroo...ok moving on.

5.  You can turn your room into a humidifier by just turning the shower to hot and letting it run for a few minutes.  Not gonna lie, but that felt really good.

Sunday I was almost 100% and finally got a few things done around the house.  I was still not able to go see my moms for Mother's Day and I was so sad.  I miss my momma.

Then one of my worst nightmares happened.  The back gate was open and my beloved Snoopy was not in the yard.  My heart dropped.  Flashbacks of when he was a puppy were running through my head.  You know, like a tv show montage with a Fray song playing in the background.

Five hours of driving, walking and emotional breakdowns ensued.  Thankfully husband put an ad on Craigslist and the local animal shelter called and said they had him.   Those words that sent me into another emotionally charged crying, sniveling and hysterical mess. Then seeing him at the shelter threw me into wails of joy.  Bottom line I was a hot mess on Sunday.  Worst 5 hours of my life.

He is back home now and the whole event hasn't even phased him, back home, doing what he does best.

After the week of sickness and Sunday of Doom, as I now refer to it, work has been crazy.  Trying to get caught up from last week and helping prepare for an event this Thursday, has left me feeling out of breathe.

I have also been out of whack with my running program for almost a week and a half, so I am hoping to get back to it today.  Hoping.  Really hoping.

Here's hoping for a better end to the week and a great weekend!

A Day In The Life

Here is a small insight to a day in the life of my Snoopy.

Howling.

Sleeping - Yes, he really was sleeping like this, it was not staged.

Eating

Well, I would put a picture of him eating, but he eats so fast that it just doesn't happen.

Begging for food.

Sleeping.

Begging to go outside and bury his bone.

Sleeping

Begging for food.

Playing outside.

Just chillin'.

Begging for food.

Sleeping.

Must be hard.

Biggest Loser - Puppy Edition

We are in full swing with the Biggest Loser at work.  After a few slow weeks, K-Lish (tying out a new nickname) is now down 9lbs.  That's right folks, I have lost a toy poodle.

Inspired and invigorated, I am starting my love Snoopy on his own weight loss journey.

That's right folks, the dog to your right.  Well, due to the comfortable life he leads, he has packed on quite a few pounds.  Being an old man (7) and being "husky" is not a good combo.  We need to get him down to George Clooney level, stat!  We are aiming for 10lb. loss for Snoops.

I started his new food regimen today and he very clearly made it known he was not happy.  Standing by his bowl howling for about a good hour, and well, there he goes again.

Aroooo!Aroooo! Translated to human speech is "Get off that laptop and feed me woman!"

So, I will keep you updated not only on my contest and weight loss, but his progress and well.

Sigh...

Wish me luck...

Little Buggers

I am on vacation until Jan. 3rd.  Yea me!

I have so much I want to do before going back to work, but I will not lie, I am gonna have some lazy hours sneaked in as well.

I also have two little buggers that keep stealing my snuggie and pillow.

Sigh...

See that purple thing?  That is my snuggie!!!
She is lying my pillow.  MY PILLOW!
It must be a hard life for a dog, huh?

My Heart

Alright peeps.  Get ready for some oohhhh'ing and aaaahhhh'ing.  I have introduced you to both my babies before.

Although, I do love my poodle Missy, I have a special place in my heart for my Snoopy.  Maybe because he is my first "born".  Or, maybe because I went on a search for the perfect dog one day, and he came running up and wouldn't leave my side.  Or maybe here is why:

I mean come on people!!! Who can resist that face?  Gah! I just want to pull on his soft long ears (he is a beagle) and pet him all day!  Unfortunately something called work keeps getting in the way. Hmm... need to do something about that situation.

He is trying to be so sly, he knows I'm taking his picture.  You see how he is smiling and his eyes are slit just enough?  (Yes, I might just be that crazy)

Ok, now here are some baby pictures, suprisingly I do not carry them around with me.

He was only 4 pounds when I brought him home, granted he is 10 times that now, but ugh! I can't stand it, he is so cute!

Ok, last one I promise.  Well, last one in this post.  Go ahead, kiss the screen, I won't tell anyone!  :)

Silly Snoopy

Ok, so a few days ago, I went to the City Market to get some fresh yummies. It was a great morning, and I went away with few great finds. Some yummy loose leaf tea, amazing fresh veggies, and an amazing loaf of challah bread. I was so excited to go home and partake in my glorious finds.

I was also excited because I wanted to make strawberry stuffed french toast, which is why I purchased the challah in the first place. So the next day as I started getting my ingredients in order, so I could start cooking first thing in the morning, I couldn't find the bread. I went to the kitchen table and no bread. I searched the kitchen, no bread. I searched my bag that I had with me and I searched the living room (just in case).

NO BREAD.

What the french toast????? I know I had that bread with me when I came into the house. GAAAAAHHHH!!!!

Then, I saw it.

Under the dining room table was the wrapper that the bread came in.

Empty.

At first it didn't click in my head as to why this wrapper was empty.  Then, there he was.

Oh, don't his cute little face fool you. This little stinker grabbed the bread off the dining room table. Which, by the way is a counter height table. Then he ate the whole loaf.

The WHOLE LOAF!!!

Sigh, so there was no yummy strawberry stuffed french toast. Maybe next week.  Silly Snoopy.

Puppy Love!!!

Gaaahhh!!!!
I love puppies!!!!  Well, all dogs in general, I just call them puppies.  :)  Tonight after a wonderful girly date with my amazing friend Megan ( who by the way has an awesome blog that you need to check out).  We stopped by a great store called Land of Paws and played with a beagle puppy.  (Insert contented sigh here.)
If I haven't stated before, I have two babies.  Missy and Snoopy.  Missy is my toy poodle and Snoopy is my beagle.  (I know, real original, Snoopy is beagle.)
They are just perfect!!!  Yes, I am biased and I don't care. Snoopy is 6 and Missy is 4.  Even though Missy is 11 lbs., she rules the roost.  Anyone else out there with toy poodles will probably attest to that fact as well.
Well, going back to Land of Paws, there was the second cutest beagle puppy in the world! His name was Beau, and I wanted to take him home!  I almost started singing, "How much is that doggie in the window??".  He is just too cute for words.  Meg and I had the best time, because we were able to take him out and play for a bit, and let me tell you, I had to leave otherwise we would have had three doggies in the house.  So, for your viewing pleasure, I am going to bless your eyes with the cuteness that is Beau.  See, here is my beautiful friend Megan, and Beau.  Awwwwwww!!!!!
Thank you to Megan for having a great "date night" with me!!!  And Beau, I hope you go to a great home that will give you all the love in the world!!!  Anyone out there thinking of getting a dog, do it!  Although research first please, and then go out and get the dog that calls to you.  It's almost like getting a wedding dress.  You will just "know" when you get that perfect style and fit.
