Ode to Food

Yup.  I love food so much I want to write a whole post about it.  I love everything about it.  The smells, the textures, colors, and of course flavor!

One of the food groups I don't cook enough of is seafood.  Mainly because husband is not a big fan, and I don't feel like cooking two meals.  But!  I have started working from home a few days a week, and this has afforded me being able to cook some yummy stuff during my lunch.

Here is what I did during my lunch today:

The start of something beautiful

Very simple ingredients,  butter, tomatoes, garlic, green onions, chili flakes, parsley and oregeno.  Now, I was so into this I didn't stop to take progess pics, but here is what you get after you add some red wine and cream.

To say this is delicious is an understatement!  Also saying only and extra 1/2 hour on the treadmill is needed to burn this off is also an understatement!

And a herb citrus roasted chicken, it's "Pinned" so go get it!

Welcome 2014!!!

Happy New Year!!!

I actually stayed up until 12:01, gave husband and baby girl and kiss and I was out!

With the new year, comes New Years resolutions.  I'm trying to keep it simple, husband doesn't like resolutions.  Why wait until New Years to start something, he says. Which is smart I guess, but I think they are fun.  Here are mine.

1.  Be Healthy.

Ah yes, the lose weight to look good has given way to being healthy.  You know, the grown up way to look at things.  I have already started and have lost some poundage so far, and hope to keep it up throughout the year.  I signed up for a 1/2 marathon today and plan on running tons of 5K/10K's.  I am also adding cooking more healthy meals, which I hope to share.

2.  Blog more.

I would love to blog more, maybe I'll actually do interesting things this year.

That's it.  There are a lot more things I would like to do, start posting in my Etsy shop again, create more recipes and do tons of Pinterest crafts.  But, like I said, keeping it simple is the name of the game.
