Flirty Friday

Happy Friday!!!

So excited for the weekend!  It was a nice day off yesterday, trying to get caught up on things (still).

Halloween party at work today and dress up!!! So much fun.  As I was searching for what to be (a witch, by the way) I kept seeing cute halloween tights and then regular tights.

I am in love with colored/patterned tights/leggings!!! Not the colored nylons, no, no and no again.  I love the thick tights and I cannot wait until it is cool enough to wear them.  It was a bit chilly this morning, but we still warm up to around 65, still too warm for my hot blood. FYI,  I sweat just thinking about being hot.

So, for this Flirty Friday edition, I am posting some of my favorite tights.  Enjoy!!!
These are my FAVES right now.  I am in love with this color!

How amazing are these?????
Love.
Can't go wrong with a leopard print tight, am I right???

Who doesn't love argyle???
I have yet to find the perfect purple tights.  I am looking for that beautiful deep eggplant purple.  If anyone knows of where to find them please let me know!!!

What the French Toast?

Ok, so I guess I am the only one in the world not on the whole bacon bandwagon.  I don't have anything against it, it's just not one of the foods I must have or drool over. Not a big fan of pork chops or ham, not sure why.  It just doesn't tickle my fancy.

Husband on the other hand is a big supporter of bacon, I swear sometimes it feels as if we are the sole supporters of the bacon industry.

There is a huge movement for bacon I have noticed, everything from Bakon vodka (yes, seriously)
Bacon Mints (say whaaaa...)
And yes, people bacon lube, I thought it was a joke, but noooooo.  It's a real thing.

Whilst perusing at the grocery store the other day as I was deciding on whether to get the good fat free air popped healthy popcorn or the super duper drenched in extra movie theater butter popcorn.  I obviously went with the butter.  Mmmmmm...

So anyways, as I was in the middle of making one of the hardest decisions I would have to make that week, I came across this:

What the French Toast????

(Side note, I just realized that the bacon lube and popcorn are made by the same company)

Any thoughts? Any of you bacon lovers??? Would you try this?

Long time no Blog!

Well, it has been a while!  I have been so busy lately that blogging has unfortunatley taken a back seat.

I am back though and with so much to say!  Let's see, where to start???

I ran a 5k in the Waddell & Reed Kansas City Marathon.  I have made a goal to run the half marathon next year!   I am now signed up for a 5K on Dec. 12 and signed up for a 10K in June of 2011.  The 10K is called the Hospital Hill run and is supposed to be very grueling due to the "The Hill", so must start training for that now!

I joined the local woman's chorus, so that has taken up some time.

My work had it's second annual Making Strides Against Breast Cancer walk!  It was amazing!!! I had the privilage to sing the national anthem before the event and it was so much fun!!!  We had 4600 walkers who raised almost $200,000!!!  That makes waking up at 4am on a Saturday morning so worth it!

View from the stage.

Of course my weekends are pretty much taken up by football now since it is in full swing! I am also in a fantasy football league with fellow bloggers and am having a blast at it!

I hope it can slow down just a little now, but we will see.  :)

The Simple Things

It's always the simple things in life that make me the happiest.

Lunch with a great friend
+
Finding a great new Mediterranean restaurant.
Yes, this is what I ate for lunch today. Yummmmmm...
+
Eating outside in the great weather and people watching.
+
Amazing dessert
I don't usually pay $2.00 for one piece of chocolate, but these are Christopher Elbow chocolates.

Happiness

Good Times

Hope everyone had a great weekend!!!

Husband, mom-il and I took a small road trip and visited some of his family.  Which was great because we saw a few relatives that we haven't seen in about 5 years.

I must say though, the best part of any trip for me, is staying in hotels.

I LOVE staying in hotels.  From the small soaps and shampoo bottles to the yummy breakfasts. I'm not sure if it's because my family and I traveled so much while I was growing up or just the excitement of going somewhere new.

Although, at this hotel we stayed in there were no shampoo bottles, but dispensers that were on shower walls.  Such as these:

These are pretty cool in my opinion and so much cleaner and convenient that regular shampoo bottles.  So cool in fact that husband thinks we should get them for our shower at home.

What is your favorite
part of traveling?
