ECLIPSE!!!

Yes, ladies and gentlemen.  I have just witnessed the beautiful, sparkling and uber muscleyness that is Eclipse.

I will have to say this is the best so far of the series.  It does have a lot more action and we get to find out a bit more about the characters that we love.

For all those who have not read the books or watched any of the movies *GASP* I know there are some of them out there, please read the books first.  There is so much inner monologue and the movies just can't seem to do that part justice.  (It is very hard to adapt a movie with so much inner monologue from all characters.)

I do tend to lean towards liking the books better than movies, but this movie was pretty gosh darn good.  (Please say the last three words in a Minnesotan accent, otherwise it's just corny, he he.)  There was character development that I was not expecting, it's so hard to review a movie without giving too much away, don't want to spoil it for anyone.  Bottom line, LOVE IT!

So, please, GO SEE IT!!!  Romance for the ladies action for the guys and lots o' sparkle and shirtlessness to go around.

Home Cookin'

So, when someone says "home cooking" or "comfort food" what comes to your mind?  Fried chicken...mashed potatoes...apple pie?

Well, growing up in a multi-cultural household, my definition of home cooking is a bit different.  Mom is South Korean (hence the name Kimchee Chronicles) and dad is white.  I've never been a big meat and potatoes kind of girl, I've always been more of a fish and rice kind of girl.

My mother is an UH-flippin-mazing cook.  Whatever cuisine it is, it is delish!  Of course nothing compares to her homeland food. Also, she used to be a baker so she would always bring home pies, bread, cookies and as well as the recipes.  No wonder I've got a some extra junk in my trunk.

She is always cooking my favorites foods when I go home and visit.  I just wanted to share just a bit of what I get to eat when I go home.

Kimchi, a staple in my Korean diet:

Seafood Noodle Soup (noodles made from scratch):

Kalbi:

Bread Candy:
Lastly, but definitely not least, of course, rice. Mmmm, rice.  Nothing is better than a huge bowl of steaming, sticky, white rice.  Yes, yes, I know it's not good for you, but oh my goodness, it tastes so good! If you want to know how to cook good Korean rice follow this link.

So, I guess home cooking or comfort food is wherever your home is, I hope you have enjoyed my version.  Maybe you can share some of your favorite home cooking.

It is still very strange thinking that I own my own home, car and have a "grown-up" job.  Whenever I visit my parents, I still feel like that 10 year old girl running in for dinner and finding some good ol' down home cooking.

Gimme some Music!!!

MUSIC!!!
I love music, but I think I need some new suggestions.

I might be in a music slump.

I love any kind of music so throw it at me.  :)

VACATION!!!

Gah! I'm so excited I can't stand it!

Thursday starts my vacation! I do not have to go back to work until July 12! I can't remember the last time I had a whole week off from work to just, well do nothing!

I plan on doing so many things around my house. I hope to keep you guys updated during the process.

1. Work on the yard.
2. Finish painting.
3. Deep clean and organize.

Now, there are other things I would love to do. Laying hardwoods and building built in bookshelves in my family room. I highly doubt I will get to those items, but we will see.

Also, we plan on having a cookout for the 4th, so excited for that as well! Maybe some days out by the pool, gotta work on my tan. :)

What would you do with a week off and nothing do?

The Funniest

A recent comment on one of my posts, reminded me of one of THE funniest SNL skits I have seen in a long long time.

I could not stop watching, I watched it at work the next day, then at home, then again at work.  Then proceeded to show everyone who would not turn and run when they saw me coming.

Here it is:

Ok, really!  Who came up with this idea???? I love it! I still crack up when I watch it.  So anytime someone either types or says Ding Dong! My mind runs screeching back to this skit and I just die of laughter.

Ding Dong Bonjour whaaa......

I hope you all enjoyed it as much as I did, and still do.  :)

What are some of your favorite SNL skits????

My Heart

Alright peeps.  Get ready for some oohhhh'ing and aaaahhhh'ing.  I have introduced you to both my babies before.

Although, I do love my poodle Missy, I have a special place in my heart for my Snoopy.  Maybe because he is my first "born".  Or, maybe because I went on a search for the perfect dog one day, and he came running up and wouldn't leave my side.  Or maybe here is why:

I mean come on people!!! Who can resist that face?  Gah! I just want to pull on his soft long ears (he is a beagle) and pet him all day!  Unfortunately something called work keeps getting in the way. Hmm... need to do something about that situation.

He is trying to be so sly, he knows I'm taking his picture.  You see how he is smiling and his eyes are slit just enough?  (Yes, I might just be that crazy)

Ok, now here are some baby pictures, suprisingly I do not carry them around with me.

He was only 4 pounds when I brought him home, granted he is 10 times that now, but ugh! I can't stand it, he is so cute!

Ok, last one I promise.  Well, last one in this post.  Go ahead, kiss the screen, I won't tell anyone!  :)

Hallelujah!

I found her.

It has been a long and hard journey, but I think I finally found her.  It has been 7 years, SEVEN years of searching,  SEVEN years of disappointment and anger.  Being fooled on more than one occasion had hardened my heart and made me resistant to letting others in. But, I have finally found the one who can take care of me the way I need to be taken care of.

Her name is Suzanne, and she is my new hair stylist.  Love her. I mean I LOVE her!  So was so thorough, I brought in the Heidi Klum picture, and you know what?  She actually listened to what I wanted and talked it through with me, and did what I wanted.  UH-mazing!
It is just so great  wonderful  when you get a great perfect cut and you know it.  You walk 5 inches taller with your head up and maybe sashaying your hips just a little bit more with that ," Yes, I know I look good." swagger.

So please, all you ladies (and men) out there looking for that one great person who can take care of you the way you should be taken care of, there is still hope.

What a Feeling!

WOW!

Have you ever had one of those weeks where everything is just well, perfect? It wasn't as if a lot of spectacular events occurred, but it was a quite week of just fun things.  It was just a time where I felt that I was happy.  (Besides the fact that I have horrendous poison ivy at the moment.)  It was a week, where it make me realize that I am truly felt grateful for everything that happened and for all the people around me.

Let me just list the fun things that happened:

1.  My amazing friends got engaged!!!!  Congratulation D & N! Love you both so much! :)
2. I was able to put a pair of pants without unbuttoning or unzipping them beforehand.
3.  I found the most amazing Zumba class!
4.  I feel like I am making headway with my yard. Finally!
5.  At work, we just got through three of the busiest weeks of the year, so far.
6.  I am an Auntie once again, my sister in law had her third baby!!! Congrats Ashley!!! You are amazing!  :)
7.  Finally watched the first two Twilight movies in preparation for Eclipse, and had a fun girls night.

So, two major life changing events happened, everything else were really just simple things.  But, it is the simple things that make life worth it!  Ok, well three life changes if you count watching the Twilight movies.  :)

And yes, my blog title is referring to the song "What a Feeling" by Irene Cara.  I heard it on the radio on the way back from the in-laws, husband was not too happy listening, but I love that song!  So, for your listening pleasure, I have included a video of the song.  Seriously, what a feeling to know that life can be so good and you can be happy.

ZUMBA!!!

Ok, this is my kind of workout! Zumba! If you ever get the chance to participate in one of these classes, DO IT!

Beware!  You will sweat, you will hurt, and you will feel amazing!  So don't get all pretty and put makeup or do your hair, because it will have all been for naught.

Below you will see what I look like before my workout.  See I'm all happy, getting ready to get my fitness on:

Aaaaaaaaaand after:

Ok, so those really aren't me, but you get the idea.  I am always so excited before and happy smiling, then I am done.  I mean I go home and I am done.  Usually after a workout there is such an endorphin rush that I am up running around for hours afterwards, but something about Zumba just kicks it up another notch!

My plan is to try and add this into my workout about twice a week.  Zumba is not just all cardio, there are strength moves built in as well, so no worries about not getting a fully body workout.

I think this will help my chances on the Round two of Biggest Loser at work.  (More to come about that later)
